Malaysia Airlines has introduced a baby ban on infants travelling in first class on the airline's new Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-400 fleet.
The airline said the new rules have been put in place after receiving numerous complaints about crying infants from first class passengers.
Travellers wanting to travel with babies will be forced to book bassinets in business or economy class instead, the Australian Business Traveller reports.
None of the first class cabins in the airline’s Boeing 747-400 fleet will have bassinets.
Malaysia Airlines CEO Tengku Azmil told the Australia Business Traveller first-class passengers complained about spending a lot of money on their airfares and not being able to sleep “due to crying infants".
The ban is expected to come into effect in June next year when the airline receives delivery of its new A380, according to Malaysian news agency Bernama.
